Since 1947, Easter Seals BC/Yukon has supported people with disabilities across British Columbia, with a long-standing presence on Vancouver Island. For more than 75 years, the organization has worked to remove barriers and create opportunities for inclusion, independence, and belonging.
On Vancouver Island, this work is brought to life through Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan. For over 40 years, the camp has provided meaningful, life-changing experiences for children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Easter Seals BC/Yukon is now leading a campaign to redevelop Camp Shawnigan into a fully accessible, year-round destination designed for people of all abilities and to strengthen the region’s social and economic vitality.
