May Membership Luncheon

Membership Luncheon

Where: Coast Bastion Inn, 11 Bastion St.

Cost: Members: $34.00 (+ GST); Non-Members: $50.00 (+ GST)

About Tilray:
Starting with a $3 million investment to purchase a building at Duke Point, another $6 million in modifications, some 60 employees hired and hard at work and collateral economic activity like shipping, goods and services, travel and hospitality one could say that one of Nanaimo’s newest businesses is definitely in a ‘growth’ mode – so to speak.

Tilray shipped its first medicinal marijuana during its opening launch in Nanaimo in April. Now they anticipate producing more than 8,000 pounds of medical cannabis for Canadian patients in 2014. With that, staffing at their Nanaimo facility will grow to around 100.

Tilray's focus is on bringing a new level of professionalism, consistency and patient-focused service to Canada's medical cannabis market. It’s expected that this commitment will continue to result in positive economic spinoffs for Nanaimo.

Let’s welcome CEO Brendan Kennedy, and other corporate principals, to our May luncheon to hear the story of how Tilray is leading an industry in a major transition from the days of Cheech & Chong and mom & pop grow-ops to cutting edge technologies dedicating to assisting a growing list of patients in Canada.
