We are pleased to have Bill Tam, President and CEO of the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) as our Guest Speaker at our February 13th luncheon at the Coast Bastion Inn. The BCTIA is a not-for-profit organization that supports technology companies in BC. Their network of 8,900 tech companies with over 82,000 skilled professionals spans across the province. They advocate and promote the success of our tech companies to government, investors, and the media, to raise awareness of BC as a place to start and grow a world-class technology company.
Bill will speak about the opportunities and challenges ahead for this vibrant part of the BC and Vancouver Island economies. The technology industry now employs more British Columbians than the forestry, mining, and oil and gas sectors combined. The challenge now is how to harness opportunities to grow BC technology even faster over the next decade, making our province a tech powerhouse and a leader in the new economy.
