About Us

The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation was founded on December 30, 1977 as a means for grateful patients and loved ones to support Island Health facilities. Today, we purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, patient comfort items and fund medical staff education to ensure our healthcare professionals have the tools and resources they need to provide even better healthcare for our central Vancouver Island communities.

We are dedicated to raising and stewarding funds to achieve healthcare excellence for Central Vancouver Island. The Foundation raises funds for the facilities and programs at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Oceanside Health Centre, Dufferin Place, Eagle Park Health Care Facility and Trillium Lodge.

Together with our generous donors, we are helping to provide better healthcare.
