Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation: March 2022 Monthly Networking Luncheon
For more than 50 years the medical team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) have been providing exceptional care for the critically ill in our community. As one of the oldest ICU’s and ranked as having the worst physical space compared to any other Canadian hospital, our ICU medical staff are considered to be some of the best in Canada.
Covid unleashed it’s wrath on Vancouver Island in March 2020 and since that first day our ICU has faced unbelievable and insurmountable challenges. Dr. Michael Kenyon, Head of the ICU will describe what NRGH went through, how we managed Covid, the patients who have conquered the disease and what he expects for the future of acute care at NRGH.
To truly understand what our healthcare heroes go through at NRGH and Dr. Michael Kenyon is the best to describe it for the general public. He lives it on a daily bases here in the ICU at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
