Monthly Networking Luncheon: Think Green

Monthly Networking Luncheon: Think Green

THINK GREEN BUSINESS LUNCHEON

Nanaimo City Council declared a Climate Change Emergency at the end of April, Nanaimo elected Canada’s second Green Party MP this spring, Nanaimo’s Regional District makes a commitment to Zero Waste, and City Council commits to regulating single use consumer plastic bags. Isn’t it time to have a conversation about the impact on business?

Nanaimo is a community considered leaders in ‘going green’ in a very proactive way. After all, we recently voted in Canada’s second Green Party Member of Parliament! Council has declared a climate emergency and waste management officials are taking major steps to regulate single use plastics.

July’s luncheon is sponsored by BC Hydro who will present a short keynote on conservation. A series of success stories on opportunities with the ‘greening of business’ from locals will bring it home. A brief greeting and update from Ottawa from our Member of Parliament, Paul Manly, follows.
