Monthly Networking Luncheon - Nanaimo Hospital Foundation

Event Sponsors

Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly - Island Health and System Direction

Join us for a networking luncheon presented by Island Health on May 9th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Coast Bastion. Key note speaker, Dr. Ben Williams, will be discussing the health care system pressures resulting from Vancouver Island demographics and the strategic direction and key priorities for Island Health.

About Our Speaker
Dr. Williams brings extensive leadership experience inside and outside of Island Health. As the Island Health Community Medical Director for Oceanside, Dr. Williams focused on making the Oceanside Health Centre a “great place to work, learn and receive care.” He has also tackled issues regarding physician recruitment, remuneration and building relationships with local stakeholders, including the Division of Family Practice.

Dr. Williams has worked on the IHealth initiative to improve the quality and transparency of communications regarding this strategic initiative. Last spring, Dr. Williams was appointed Executive Lead for Strategy and Engagement in the Office of the President and CEO where his responsibilities included leading Island Health’s Engagement with the Ernst and Young IHealth Review team.

In late January, Dr. Williams was appointed Executive Medical Lead for Nanaimo Regional General Hospital providing executive oversight of hospital operations, cultural transformation and implementation of the Vector and EY recommendations.

This luncheon is proudly sponsored by the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
