Monthly Networking Luncheon: Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC)

The Future of Auto Insurance in BC

Join fellow Chamber members on January 9th for a networking luncheon at the Coast Bastion Hotel. The Chamber welcomes Aaron Sutherland, Vice President, Pacific, Insurance Bureau of Canada, as the Keynote Speaker.

Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is the national association of Canada’s private home, business, and auto insurers. Unlike here in BC, in most other Canadian provinces auto insurance is provided by private insurers in a competitive marketplace – a model that has proven to deliver more affordable auto insurance with increased customer satisfaction. With BC drivers paying more for their auto insurance than anywhere else in the country, Aaron Sutherland, IBC’s Vice-President, Pacific will describe how Canada’s private insurers are eager to better support the BC marketplace and how they can help improve the affordability of auto insurance for BC drivers.

More About Our Speaker
As Vice-President for Insurance Bureau of Canada’s Pacific region, Aaron directs all of its government relations activities in British Columbia. He is responsible for eliciting positive change and sound public policy on key priorities and member companies’ concerns on strategic property and casualty insurance industry objectives.

Prior to joining Insurance Bureau of Canada in 2014, he held senior roles with the Interior Health Authority and British Columbia government.

Aaron holds a bachelor of arts in international relations from the University of British Columbia. An enthusiastic and dedicated community advocate, he is a member of the board for the Pacific Northwest Preparedness Society and the British Columbia Earthquake Alliance. He has been a "Big Brother" with the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver since 2014.

This Luncheon is proudly sponsored by the
Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).
