Monthly Networking Luncheon: Excellence in Intensive Care

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: IT IS WITH GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT WE ARE ANNOUNCING THE CANCELLATION OF OUR MONTHLY NETWORKING LUNCHEON WITH DR. MICHAEL KENYON. While disappointing, we believe it is in the best interest of our members and the local community to follow the guidelines on social distancing put forth by Canadian public health services. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter. Stay happy and healthy!
Excellence in Intensive Care – The Urgent Need for the New ICU at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital
For over 40 years, the medical team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) has been providing exceptional care for the critically ill in our community. The ICU at NRGH, however, is one of the oldest in B.C. and one of the most in need of improvement and expansion in all of Canada. It is also one of the busiest on Vancouver Island, serving more than 400,000 residents living north of the Malahat. With only nine beds available, the capacity is no longer sufficient to meet the growing demand for patients’ needs. A new, enhanced ICU with the latest medical equipment and space will enable our dedicated team of healthcare professionals to continue to provide exceptional care for our most vulnerable patients and their families.
Dr. Michael Kenyon, MBBCh, Dip.Av.Med., FCP(SA), FACP, FRCPC, Clinical Assistant Professor, UBC
