Industry Outlook Forum

Industry Outlook Forum

2026 Market Outlook

The Industry Outlook Forum is the Island’s principal event dedicated to comprehensive economic, market, and policy examination relating to the residential housing sector. As Vancouver Island continues to navigate increased demand, infrastructure pressures, labour capacity constraints, and regulatory change, the Forum will provide critical insight into the factors influencing housing delivery, affordability, and future community planning.
This annual event serves as an essential platform for evidence-based dialogue and strategic alignment. By convening the full complement of the housing continuum, public officials, developers, real estate professionals, and business leadership, we aim to support informed policy development, investment certainty, and stable market growth.
The 2026 Forum will feature:
  • Macroeconomic and regional housing market forecasting
  • Industry innovation and regulatory modernization emerging from energy and climate policy
  • Cross-sector discussion on affordability, infrastructure readiness, and future supply planning
We are pleased to invite you to a joint event brought to you by the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB), Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Vancouver Island (CHBA VI) and the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce for the 2026 Industry Outlook Forum being held on January 22, 2026.
This annual event connects the Island’s housing sector the builders, developers, realtors, and industry professionals shaping our communities and driving local economic growth.
The Industry Outlook Forum brings together leaders from across the housing continuum to explore market trends, policy impacts, and economic insights that influence how and where we build and sell. It’s a unique opportunity to engage with decision-makers, share expertise, and demonstrate your organization’s commitment to supporting housing affordability, innovation, and sustainable community growth.
