Event Overview

The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present an International Women’s Day–inspired Leadership Luncheon welcoming the Honourable Brenda Bailey, Minister of Finance, during her visit to Nanaimo.

This member-exclusive event will bring together business leaders from across Vancouver Island for a focused and professional conversation on leadership, economic growth, and the role of women in shaping BC’s economic future. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from the Minister on provincial economic priorities while engaging in meaningful dialogue relevant to local businesses and communities.

BRENDA BAILEY 

Honourable Minister of Finance, British Columbia 

First elected in 2020, Brenda and has served as BC’s Minister of Finance since 2024.
Brenda is a serial entrepreneur in the BC creative technology sector. She most recently served as the Executive Director of DigiBC, the Interactive and Digital Media Industry Association of British Columbia, where she worked to strengthen the province’s growing creative tech industry and continued her commitment to bringing more diversity and inclusion to the tech sector. She also previously served as the Executive Director of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, helping young people to realize their full potential through mentorship.
 
Brenda has degrees in Political Science and Social work, with advanced studies in Business and Law and lives in Vancouver with her Husband Bijan and their beloved dog Murphy
