He spent many nights at the terminal waiting for the weather to allow the ferry to come in. This experience taught him that the connections and goods provided by coastal ferries are essential to the areas they serve.\n\n\n\nMark's personal experience\, combined with his knowledge gained through many years in leadership roles\, are the foundation of his vision for BC Ferries today: to be a future focused enterprise that is trusted and valued by communities and customers. He is driven to provide exceptional ferry service on the West Coast.\n\n\n\nMark began his career on the water\, first on bulk carriers\, oil tankers and container vessels\, eventually taking on shore-based management roles.
