SUMMARY:Monthly Networking Luncheon - LNG Canada
DESCRIPTION:The Time is Now for LNG in BC\n\n\n\nThis luncheon is proudly sponsored by LNG Canada and will feature Gillian Robinson\, Senior Director of Communications with the BC LNG Alliance\, as the Keynote Speaker. Join Gillian as she discusses LNG Canada's commitment to start construction on a LNG facility on B.C.'s coast this year. This $40-billion project would be the largest single infrastructure investment in B.C.'s history and impact employment across the province.\n\n \n\nOver the next 25 years\, the world's population is projected to grow by nearly two billion people. In less than half that time\, the global middle class will double. The world is looking for cleaner sources of electricity which has led to a projected increase in demand for liquefied natural gas by 50 per cent over the next 30 years- that's where B.C. can help.\n\n\n\nAbout Our Speaker\n\nGillian Robinson has been working in British Columbia's LNG industry since 2013 and is the Senior Director of Communications for the BC LNG Alliance\, heading the Alliance's public affairs\, marketing and strategic communications divisions. \n\n\n\nPrior to the BC LNG Alliance\, Gillian worked for Chevron Canada on the Kitimat LNG Project and previously worked with BC Hydro as their corporate spokesperson\, as well as the Ontario government's transit division Metrolinx\, Human Resources Development Canada and for the Resort Municipality of Whistler.\n\n \n\nGillian began her career as a journalist after graduating from BCIT's Broadcast Journalism program in 1999 and worked as a producer and assignment editor for "Global National with Kevin Newman"\, CBC's "The National" and CTV Vancouver. She also worked for the "Westerly News" covering local news in Ucluelet and Tofino.\n\n\n\nGillian is B.C. - born and raised and has two daughters. Her family likes to divide their recreational time between the mountains and the ocean.\n\n\n\nThis luncheon is proudly sponsored by:
